This F-86 Sabre Plane Tag came from the fuselage of a decommissioned F-86 that was acquired from the Pima Air Museum in Tucson, Arizona.
It was a derelict rear section of an F-86 that sat out in the desert for many years. Instead of destroying the section, the decision was made to cut it up to let a thousand people enjoy it. The F-86 gained everlasting fame in the Korean Conflict, downing MiG 15’s at a ratio of 10 to 1. The first swept wing jet built by North American Aviation. It is a worthy successor to the company’s earlier triumph, the P-51 Mustang.
PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal.
